Welcome back to Budapest

The 2018 Senior World Championships will be held in the capital city of Hungary from 20th to 28th October and the first media event took place in Budapest. The Organizing Committee invited the representatives of Hungarian media for a press conference to five-star Hotel Boscolo. The press conference was attended by Mr. Nenad Lalovic, President of International Wrestling Federation (UWW), member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Mr. Szilárd Németh, President of Hungarian Wrestling Federation and the Organizing Committee, Krisztián Kulcsár, President of Hungarian Olympic Committee, Péter Sárfalvi, deputy secretary of state for Sports, and the best Hungarian wrestlers with their coaches.

UWW Supports the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Changes of rules

United World Wrestling announced several improvements to the sport of wrestling. The changes were highlighted by an increase in the number of weight categories and the implementation of a two-day competition format.

Lalovic to join IOC Executive Board

United World Wrestling president Nenad Lalovic has been elected to the IOC Executive Board (EB) as representative for the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF), following a recent vote by the 28 Summer International Federations. The IOC Session confirmed the vote this morning in Pyeongchang. Lalovic will become the first EB member from the sport of wrestling.
